Former Hoover (Ala.) and current Colquitt County (Ga.) head coach Rush Propst told AL.com that he's discussed a potential job with Tennessee as part of Pruitt's coaching staff.

"I have talked to Tennessee, (but) it's not in concrete," Propst said on Tuesday during a phone interview with the website. "There's no official offer with Tennessee."

Pruitt worked as a defensive coordinator under Propst at Hoover during the team's run of numerous national championships in the 2000s, which was chronicled in the MTV reality show "2-A-Days,before joining Alabama's staff as a defensive assistant in 2007.

The coach didn't specify what role he'd potentially serve with the Vols, AL.com reports that he'd likely serve as an off-the-field assistant.

Propst led Colquitt County to an appearance in the Georgia Class 7A title game against North Gwinnett, which resulted in a 19-17 loss last week. A victory would have earned him his ninth career high school state championship.

Propst went 176-61 during his time coaching five different Alabama high schools — Ashville, Eufaula, Alba, Alma Bryant and Hoover, where he won five state titles in 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.

He has since led Colquitt County to a 105-34 record, including two state championships and four title game appearances during his 10 seasons with the program.

"Yeah, I'd love to coach college football," Propst said. "I think I can. I think I've done all I can in high school football, and I'd love the oppoortunity to work on someone's staff."

Propst has confirmed that he hasn't been contacted by Alabama about potentially joining Nick Saban's staff, but said he would be interested if a position became available.

"Would I be interested? Absolutely, I would," Propst said. "I have not talked with Alabama about any jobs. I'm not even aware of any open jobs."
