Tennessee was going to need all of its receivers to play well this year now that Josh Dobbs is gone and a new quarterback will have to be broken in. Unfortunately, the Volunteers will be without key senior receiver Josh Smith for about a third of the season according to Jimmy Hyams of WNML in Knoxville.

Smith has clearly had a tough go at staying healthy and this is yet another roadblock in his path. Hopefully he can come back on the shorter end of that prognosis and contribute yet again for the Vols. Last season, he had 13 receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown in 12 games. He was set for a bigger role with guys like Josh Malone, Alvin Kamara and Jason Croom gone.
