Former Tennessee and current Florida Atlantic coach Lane Kiffin had an interesting series of tweets on Wednesday.

Kiffin, who notoriously left the Vols after one season, apparently still has some love for the Big Orange heading into Saturday's matchup against Alabama, where he also worked as an offensive coordinator during the last two seasons.
The coach responded to a tweet in which one user pointed out that he was following a "UTCoachKiffin" account — which apparently is lobbying for him to make his return to Knoxville — by hashtagging that he was "focused on Bama."

Kiffin also responded to a fan who said he would have the coach as his second choice behind Bob Stoops as the Vols' next head coach. The coach acknowledged the photo from Tennessee's 2009 home win over South Carolina of former running back Montario Hardesty and provided several hashtags.

The coach also responded to BamaOnline247's video in which the Tide blocked a would be game-winning field goal attempt by the Kiffin-coached Vols in 2009 by pointing out that his defense held top-ranked Alabama to zero touchdowns and that the play should have been a penalty.

While it may come as a surprise, Kiffin noted during Tennessee's home opener that he still has a soft spot for the Volunteers.

So wait, is Kiffin really campaigning for the job he walked out on almost eight years ago? Would Tennessee fans welcome him back with open arms after the Derek Dooley and Butch Jones eras?
Though it's highly unlikely that he'll make his way back on Rocky Top as a head coach, it's still an interesting prospect to think about.
