Four-star Tennessee commit says he just added an offer from a "dream school"

Flip alert.

Things aren't going well for Butch Jones and the Tennessee Volunteers on the field — currently 3-5 and on a four-game losing streak — and it sounds like they may not get better, even on the recruiting trail.

Alontae Taylor is a four-star wide receiver commitment for the Vols, committed to Tennessee for well over a year. He's a talented player and certainly one of Tennessee's top 2018 commitments, but the Alabama Crimson Tide have thrown a big wrench into the plans for Tennessee.

Alabama did that by offering Taylor on Friday morning.

An offer from Alabama is huge no matter the recruit, but the situation gets even more interesting for Taylor considering his thoughts on the Crimson Tide. Recently catching up with Rivals.com, the four-star admitted that Alabama is his dream school. Not only did he say that, but he already knows the Crimson Tide are going to receive an official visit from him.

"Dream school," Taylor said in reference to the offer. "They are going to get an official visit for sure."

This is bad news for Tennessee, especially considering the fact that Butch Jones likely won't be the head coach in Knoxville for much longer. He's on the hottest of hot seats and if he ends up finishing the season as head coach it would be a small miracle. In fact, it seems to be a foregone conclusion that he won't be the head coach at Tennessee come next year, but the same thing can't be said at Alabama.

Nick Saban is going to be the head coach at Alabama until he says otherwise, and if there's one thing college recruits feel is just as important as a winning culture, it's consistency from a coaching staff.

That's something Alabama can bring to the table for Taylor — especially at head coach. Tennessee, unfortunately, can't.

Anything can and does happen on the recruiting trail, but it seems like Taylor's commitment to Tennessee could be in jeopardy.
