Father of former Tennessee QB calls program a "dumpster fire" amid Butch Jones turmoil

Harsh words.

Ferguson, who claims to be a life-long Vols fan, called the program a "dumpster fire" and called his son's decision to transfer away "the best decision of his life."

It's hard to argue with that assessment.

Ferguson has flourished since his arrival at Memphis with 5,233 passing yards and 48 touchdowns in 18 career starts.

At Tennessee, he suffered a leg injury and redshirted in 2013 before transferring to Coffeyville Community College in 2015 where he finished as the top-ranked JUCO pro-style quarterback for the 2015 JUCO transfer class. He then transferred to Memphis in 2016.
