Tennessee running back Jalen Hurd shocked the college football world earlier this week when it was announced that he would be transferring from the program. Hurd has had a down season after rushing for over 1,000 yards in 2015, with injuries being a partial cause for the downturn.

On Friday, it was reported Hurd has officially signed his release papers, and that Tennessee had put restrictions on his transfer.

Outside of SEC teams, other major Tennessee opponents in the future include Georgia Tech in 2017 and West Virginia in 2018. None of Tennessee's out-of-conference opponents outside of those two would be likely to land Hurd.
Hurd rushed for 2,638 yards in his three-year career at Tennessee, scoring 26 total touchdowns. Hurd must now sit out a season per NCAA transfer rules, and he will have one year of eligibility remaining.
