It was bad enough that Tennessee barely scratched out a win against Ohio 28-19 in Knoxville, but it seems the Bobcats wanted to add injury to insult. Yes, in that order.

RELATED: Tennessee DB Cam Sutton suffers ugly ankle injury against Ohio
Senior defensive back Cam Sutton was going to make a tackle on a Bobcat player and looked to have planted his foot awkwardly on the tackle. His foot gave in to the turf —- which has been a problem for years now —- and buckled under him quite painfully.
Following the game, head coach Butch Jones confirmed that the star cornerback will miss "an extended period of time." The coach didn't have a timeline on when Sutton might come back from his injury, but is certain that this team will miss Sutton.
"I feel for him and his family," the head coach said. "This is an individual who is a role model for what a student-athlete is and what it takes to prepare, week in and week out. You give me 11 [players like] Cam Sutton, and we will win a lot of football games. It is very unfortunate."
Sutton is now one of several players who will miss the rivalry game with Florida next week in Knoxville.
UT will face UF without All-SEC CB Cam Sutton, All-SEC LB Darrin Kirkland, possibly others including All-SEC LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin. Yikes.

That is not an ideal situation for a team that has been playing inconsistently and down to its competition with the exception of the Virginia Tech game. Sutton had started every game in 2016 and the previous three seasons as well.
