Former Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett is seen by many as the top prospect available in the 2017 NFL Draft. As a result, there has been discussion surrounding Garrett and a potential landing spot with the Cleveland Browns, who own the No. 1 overall pick this time around.

However, Garrett was an active participant in a video that included a plea for the Dallas Cowboys to use Tony Romo to trade up in an effort to select him. That was widely interpreted as a veiled shot at the Browns but, in response, Garrett later indicated that his intent was never to take a swipe at Cleveland.

The video above included the following on Garrett's feelings toward Cleveland and other cold-weather teams.
"People might say they're this, they're that, or I made a comment about cold weather and they kind of pointed toward Cleveland. That doesn't matter to me. I'll play where ever they put me. And that's the mindset. You go in with a mindset that you're going to turn things around, you can make that contagious, and people start to believe in it, you can turn into a winning program where ever you go."
This walk-back will likely generate far less attention than the initial video produced and that is just how this works. However, it was (very) wise for Garrett to get out in front of what could have been a perilous situation, especially when the Cowboys would have the seriously mortgage their future in an effort to secure him.
Myles Garrett might wind up in Cleveland and he might not. After this episode, though, every link between the two sides will be met with a bit of extra intrigue.
