Four-star offensive tackle Luke Matthews (6-foot-4, 310 pounds, Missouri City, TX) comes from the storied Matthews family that has put several players — including Green Bay's Clay Matthews and Atlanta's Jake Matthews — into the NFL.
Well, Luke still has a long way to go until he's ready for the NFL, but the class of 2018 recruit took a big step on Tuesday when he announced his commitment to Texas A&M.
Matthews may only be in his sophomore year of high school, but he already has the build that his family is famous for. At 6-foot-4, 310 pounds already, it wouldn't be too shocking if he added more size by the time he graduated from high school. If he does, then Matthews could easily be rated as one of the Top 10 recruits of the 2018 class by the time 2018 National Signing Day comes around.
