Jimbo Fisher is now the coach at Texas A&M and he's got the massive contract to prove it. While Aggies fans are likely pretty ecstatic about landing the coach, it came at a price of $75 million over 10 years. That doesn't sit well with current San Diego State coach Rocky Long.

SDSU’s Rocky Long on Jimbo Fisher’s $75M contract: “He doesn't make 1 tackle, doesn't catch 1 pass, he doesn't score 1 TD. We’re not only in this to have a salary, we're in this to develop young men so (coaching salaries are) embarrassing at times” via Mark & Rich Show XTRA 1360

It should be noted that Long just got a $10,000 bonus as a result of his running back Rashaad Penny being named a First-Team All-American. While that isn't the insane base salary that Fisher enjoys, maybe saying all that about developing young men is a bit too far considering he just profited from the development of one of those young men.
However, Long is right that coaching salaries have taken a turn for the ridiculous. Nick Saban is getting paid over $11 million to coach Alabama while Dabo Swinney is getting paid about $8.5 million to coach Clemson and Jim Harbaugh is getting paid $7 million to coach Michigan. Long's base salary is less than a $1 million, but he is also coaching the Mountain West so the money isn't quite as abundant to hand out to coaches in the conference.
