With just over seven minutes left in the third quarter in a game between the Texas A&M Aggies and Ole Miss Rebels, Aggies defensive lineman Shemar Turner was ejected after receiving an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for punching Ole Miss offensive lineman Micah Pettis not once, but twice.
On first down at the Aggies' 12-yard line, the Rebels handed the ball off to running back Quinshon Judkins for a gain of four yards. During the play, Pettis would block Turner to the ground and proceed to stand up. As Turner would get up, his head would rise up in the groin area of Turner, and one can only think Turner thought Pettis did that intentionally, causing Turner to rise up and deliver an uppercut to Pettis' groin area and then would throw another punch at the upper body area.

Turner, who was named to the SEC All-Freshman team in 2021, has been a full-time starter for the Aggies since his sophomore year, and is currently having a breakout season for Texas A&M. Through eight games, Turner has two forced fumbles and has already set career high in tackles for loss (9) and sacks (5).
It has been a very disappointing season for the Aggies who entered Saturday's matchup with Ole Miss fourth in the SEC West standings with a 3-2 conference record and 5-3 record overall and with the Aggies backs against the wall, about to be down 14, and potentially on their way to another loss, emotions of the season and the game came together and got the best of Turner on this one.
