Women's sports at Texas A&M continue to shine and be a dominant force not only within the SEC, but throughout the college sports landscape as well. The Aggies women's basketball team is ranked and have won seven games in a row, the women's track tram just won the Charlie Thomas Invitational, the women's tennis team is undefeated to start the season, and women's swimming is thriving.
It's time to add to the successful run of women's sports in Aggieland with the Texas A&M Equestrian team, which is currently ranked No. 4 in the country.
A horseback riding sport popular in the United States, Australia, and throughout Europe, there are currently only 18 Division I NCAA equestrian programs in the country and four of them are in Texas, including the Aggies. There are just four Division II NCAA equestrian programs in the U.S. and West Texas A&M is one of them as well. It's safe to say the Aggies have a pretty good fan base for this sport as well.

No. 4 Texas A&M Equestrian, which is now 6-2 overall, upset previously unbeaten and No. 2 SMU on Saturday at the Hildebrand Equine Complex. The Aggies won the 11-9, thanks to Brianna Peddicord winning the final, winner-take-all ride.
Head coach Tana McKay is doing a great job with the team and knocking off one of the top-ranked teams in the country is definitely putting the Aggies on the map. The Aggies are even receiving coverage in prominent horseback riding publications.
Rebecca Murray and Katie Schroeder were recently featured in The American Quarter Horse Association magazine, which is like the Sports Illustrated publication of their sport.
Although football is the king of sports in College Station, the women of Texas A&M have been putting on a show and giving the fans a lot to cheer about. The excellence of the programs cannot be denied. Now that people are getting to know a little more about them, hopefully they can get even more support.
