Texas A&M loses another recruit as TE Irvin Smith decommits

As if Texas A&M and head coach Kevin Sumlin need more bad news about personnel this season, they just lost one of the top tight ends in the 2016 recruiting cycle.

Irvin Smith (6-foot-4, 230 pounds, New Orleans, La.) is a three-star recruit that is rated as one of the better tight ends in his class, especially thanks to his size. Smith reopening his recruitment could lead to several possibilities, as both Texas and Alabama are now two of the top teams that could land the tight end.

Smith is taking an official visit to Alabama on Friday.
