It is more important than ever to have tough opponents on the schedule, and it looks like two teams are trying to lock that down for the foreseeable future. According to the Miami-Herald, Texas A&M and Miami are on the verge to agreeing to a home-and-home series in 2022-23.
Per sources, UM is finalizing a deal to play a home-and-home football series with Texas A&M in 2022 and 2023.
UM's philosophy is to play one marquee non-conference game annually, and this Aggies deal gives Miami one on the schedule for the next seven years.

Miami already has Notre Dame, LSU, Florida, and Michigan State on their schedule in the coming years. The deal would also give Texas A&M a major non-conference opponent every year through 2025. That schedule includes UCLA next year, Clemson in 2018-19, and home-and-homes with Notre Dame and Colorado after that.
