Texas A&M scored a 31-30 win over South Carolina on Saturday after mounting a comeback to reach 10-0 on the season. However, the bigger story involved a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper, who clashed with a South Carolina player.

The incident unfolded after wide receiver Nyck Harbor scored an 80-yard touchdown in the second quarter of the game. He hobbled up the tunnel as his fellow players followed. As they turned and walked back to the field, the Texas DPS trooper walked toward them.
The trooper collided with running back Oscar Adaway III before turning, pointing his finger at Harbor multiple times, and yelling something. The receiver raised his hands in a gesture that appeared to convey confusion as Adaway directed him back to the field.

"We are aware of the incident in the NE tunnel involving a DPS trooper. He has been relieved of his game day assignment," the Texas A&M Police said on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
The Texas Department of Public Safety also provided a statement about the incident, saying, "The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is aware of the incident that occurred today during the Texas A&M football game.
"The DPS Trooper involved was sent home from the game. Our Office of Inspector General (OIG) is also aware of the incident and will be further looking into the matter. No additional information will be released at this time."
This incident sparked numerous reactions online, as expected, as countless social media users weighed in. Some called the trooper racist while others said he should be ashamed of himself. One person just said that college football is the greatest sport ever.
One of the most prominent comments came from NBA player LeBron James, who called for a suspension, saying, "That was premeditated and corny AF!! He went out his way to start some (expletive). Do better man."
