This NFL star explains why LSU, Alabama are not 'Running Back U'

He does make a good point.

When you're thinking of some of the best backfields in the country you're likely considering LSU with Leonard Fournette, Alabama with Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake or Ohio State with Ezekiel Elliott. Well, some of those guys are gone and there's one former SEC star who wants to make it clear that he doesn't believe any of those schools are "RBU."

Former Georgia running back Todd Gurley —- winner of this year's NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award —- is coming off an NFL year where he rushed for over 1,100 yards and scored 10 touchdowns as a rookie. He may know a thing or two about toting the ball and he thinks his alma mater deserves way more credit for being "Running Back U" and having a lot of talent in that regard.

"That's what we do at Georgia, we breed running backs. We're Running Back U," Gurley told TMZ Sports. "LSU might think they're Running Back U. Y'all after us and then maybe Bama."

Don't tell that to the last two running backs to win the Heisman since they were Bama's Mark Ingram (2009) and Derrick Henry (2015). The backfield of Sony Michel, Nick Chubb and Elijah Holyfield is promising and should be pretty good this year even if the quarterback situation doesn't get figured out.
