This stat will make Danny Kanell's SEC hating seem pretty stupid

How do you like dem apples?

Most people who watched any SEC games this weekend would probably say the conference did not fare too well with a record five losses —- with potential for a sixth Monday night when Ole Miss and FSU meet —- on opening weekend. That naturally drew quite a bit of ire from known SEC hater and troll artist Danny Kanell.

However, what Kanell failed to mention was that the SEC also set a record on the winning side of things. The conference won three games vs Top-25 teams in Week 1, which is tied for the most by any conference ever. No other conference has ever won three non-conference Top-25 games in Week 1 and the SEC has a chance to win its 4th such game tonight when Ole Miss and Florida State meet up.

Those wins include a 52-6 Alabama drubbing of USC, an overtime thriller that saw Texas A&M beat UCLA 31-24 and Georgia beating North Carolina 33-24 with a freshman quarterback leading the way. The Aggies were the only unranked team to beat a Top-25 team, but maybe that will negate some of the bad losses in the conference for Kanell.
