Just a day after naming Florida the new leader in his recruitment, five-star quarterback Matt Corral (6-foot-2, 198 pounds, Long Beach, Ca.) announced that he had committed to the Gators.

Corral had decommitted from USC a month ago, and SEC schools like Auburn and Georgia were hot on his trial once he was back on the market. However, it looks like Florida won out and they could have their quarterback of the future locked up.
If #Gators commit Matt Corral remains the No. 7 recruit on Rivals, he'll be highest-ranked QB signee in UF history.https://t.co/PxMZ7aoQSh pic.twitter.com/FC4Cyw2UT2

Corral had this to say yesterday to 247Sports before he made his commitment:
"This first time was a great experience. Coach Nussmeier and coach McElwain left no questions in my mind about what a great fit Florida would be for me. I can 100-percent see myself playing in the swamp in the blue and orange."
Corral is rated as the No. 7 overall recruit and the No. 2 quarterback by Rivals. Florida now has 12 commitments for the 2018 class, with Corral now becoming their highest-rated commitment.
