Alabama hasn't always had the best of luck from the place kicking position. Senior Adam Griffith has been inconsistent but good enough during his time kicking for the Tide and is backed up by little used redshirt junior Andy Pappanastos. Alabama has been working hard on the recruiting trail to land a kicker with a big leg who can be more consistent and fight to earn the job as a freshman. The Tide may have found that player in Brandon Ruiz.

Ruiz is a hard commit to the Tide from Gilbert, Arizona. 247sports ranks he a three star prospect and the number two overall kicker in the country. Recently Ruiz showed just why Alabama is very excited to get him on campus. Ruiz drilled a 58-yard field goal setting a Williams Field High School record.

There is little doubt that Ruiz will challenge for the starting job when he joins Alabama next year.
