Shocker! Five-star QB Tate Martell announces decommitment from Texas A&M

Bad news for the Aggies!

Five-star quarterback Tate Martell (5-foot-11, 203 pounds, Las Vegas, NV) was figuring to be the crown jewel of Texas A&M's 2017 recruiting class, as the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback committed to the Aggies back in August.

However, it looks like Martell is having second thoughts, as he announced his intention to re-open his recruitment on Wednesday via Twitter.

As if Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M hadn't lost enough five-star quarterbacks recently, it looks like they are losing another one before they even got there.

Where could Martell be going? Well, we reported back in March that Martell could be on the verge of flipping to Ohio State. As of now, 247Sports lists Ohio State as the next most likely team for Martell to commit to, and from what we've seen in the past, Martell likes the Buckeyes.

It will be interesting to see where Martell goes next, and if Texas A&M can recover from this huge loss to their recruiting class.
