SI's newest preseason Top 25 has a change in the Top 2

Will this really happen to open the season?

If this comes to fruition in September, it could easily qualify as the biggest opening game in college football history.

Sports Illustrated released their post-spring practice Top 25 this week, and it revealed a new team near the top; Florida State is now No. 2 in the SI.com rankings, coming in only behind Alabama. If the same thing happens in the AP or Coaches Poll to open the season, we will see a 1 vs. 2 matchup to open the season, as the two teams are scheduled to open the new Falcons stadium in Atlanta in Week 1.

Falling from the No. 2 spot to accommodate Florida State is USC, who is now No. 3 in the SI.com rankings. Closing out the Top 5 are Ohio State and Penn State. The defending national champs, Clemson, are at No. 6, while fellow Playoff contender Washington is at No. 8.
