That viral moment, of course, led to several fan reactions on social media. With many claiming that it was an act avengeance, following the euthanization of social media star, P'Nut the squirrel.
"The ghost of Peanut the Squirrel is running through Georgia / Old Miss right now," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Squirrels taking revenge on everyone for PNut," another user added.
Kirby Smart Gets Honest on Carson Beck's Struggles
One of the keys for the Bulldogs will be the play of their starting quarterback Carson Beck. Beck left a lot to be desired in Georgia's matchup against Florida last weekend, which nearly resulted in them being upset by the unranked Gators. After throwing three interceptions against Florida last weekend, things won't get anything easier for Beck and the Bulldogs. Ole Miss has the number six scoring defense in the country putting up nearly two touchdowns on the day.
But despite Beck's struggles, Georgia head coach doesn't appear to be too concerned.
"I think I was more pleased after watching the game than anything, because, I mean, he had 73 snaps. He had 68 winning decisions, really good decisions. I mean, 68 for 73, pretty good in any sport I'm in that you're in," Smart said.
"I think the concern is the mistakes can't be catastrophic. You've got to make good decisions and the two plays that he ends up turning the ball over on, they weren't great looks defensively against that call. "We were expecting something else. So, when that happens, you got to play for the next down, right? It's the most common thing in football. You've got to be willing to concede a down and move on, especially when it's first down."
