Star college LB quitting football, will instead pursue an interesting new career

Best of luck to him.

It's not football, but I guess it's close enough.

Washington linebacker Psalm Wooching was a key part of the Huskies' defense this year, as he led Washington in sacks (6), and added on 42 total tackles and 7.0 tackles for loss. Wooching will be graduating from the program, and it was expected that he would enter the NFL Draft, but he has another idea in mind:

Professional rugby.

"My first love and sport that I've excelled in was Rugby and it is time for me to follow my heart," Wooching said in his statement.

It's an interesting decision because it looks like Wooching won't even pursue a career in the NFL at all. He isn't a top prospect, but guys usually give it a shot before pursuing other careers. Instead, it looks like Wooching is following his heart into a sport where he should excel.
