Well, this is pretty odd. At the College Football Playoff championship media day on Saturday afternoon, Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin told the media that a former prominent head coach actually texted him plays at halftime of Alabama's semifinal game against Michigan State. Kiffin stated that none other than former USC head coach Steve Sarkisian texted Kiffin run play ideas at half. Kiffin, unfortunately, didn't say whether or not he used them.
Sarkisian was fired from USC in October after previously being placed on an indefinite leave of absence. Sarkisian was allegedly intoxicated at a USC pep rally in August, and informed the media that he would be receiving treatment for alcoholism. He has since filed for a breach of contract complaint against USC for the firing.
