Well this isn't a usual destination for four-star recruits, but defensive tackle Tayland Humphrey has made a decision that will rock the college football recruiting world.
On Friday, Humphrey (6-foot-5, 350 pounds, Spring, TX) announced that he had committed to Florida International over offers from schools like Alabama, Louisville and Oklahoma State.
As Humphrey mentioned in his Twitter post, his younger brother is currently committed to FIU, and it looks like the big defensive tackle will be making his way down to southern Florida as well.
This is an incredible recruiting win for FIU head coach Butch Davis — yes, that Butch Davis — as his Panthers will hope to build on an 8-4 season in 2017. FIU was ranked 90th in recruiting before Humphrey, and they will likely move up a sizable amount after the commit from him and from highly-ranked three-star Jamal Anderson.
Humphrey is ranked as a four-star and as the No. 8 JUCO recruit in the nation by 247Sports. He's likely the highest-rated recruit to ever commit to Florida International.
