The best college coaches at developing NFL draft picks has a big surprise at No. 1

Didn't see that name coming.

One of the biggest draws that a college program can have in football is the NFL. If a team has a proven track record in putting players into the NFL, then that is certainly something they should be touting to recruits.

But which coach is actually the best at doing that? The website Pick Six Previews took a look at four and five-star recruits signed by coaches in college, and determined which ones were the best at actually turning that talent into NFL players.

The surprising No. 1? UCLA Jim Mora Jr.

Yeah, Jim Mora.

Mora has a smaller sample-size than most coaches near the top, so this isn't the best assessment of his ability to put out NFL talent. However, it is a good indication that the talent at UCLA has gotten better under his tenure instead of worse.

The one that are often known as good recruits and good coaches are all over the Top 10: Clemson's Dabo Swinney is No. 2, Alabama's Nick Saban is No. 5, and Florida State's Jimbo Fisher is No. 6. Miami's Mark Richt — which uses his tenure at Georgia, obviously — and Ohio State's Urban Meyer are tied at No. 9.

The full Top 10 is below. You can check out Pick Six's website for the full rankings, and the methodology behind it.

1. Jim Mora, UCLA
2. Dabo Swinney, Clemson
3. Jim Harbaugh, Michigan/Stanford
4. Gary Patterson, TCU
5. Nick Saban, Alabama/LSU
6. Jimbo Fisher, Florida State
6. Dan Mullen, Mississippi State
8. Brian Kelly, Notre Dame
9. Urban Meyer, Ohio State/Florida
9. Mark Richt, Miami/Georgia
