The nation's top 2017 recruit thinks Jim Harbaugh is "dope"

The top 2017 prospect in the country enjoys the work of Jim Harbaugh.

Najee Harris, the top nation's top 2017 high school prospect, has already visited Ann Arbor, and it appears that the dynamic running back enjoys the work of Jim Harbaugh. Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle is keeping close tabs on Harris as he moves through his senior football season, and the 6-foot-3, 226-pound running back had some very positive things to say about Michigan's head coach.

"He's dope. Everybody thinks he's weird, but he's not weird. I like him a lot. He's a funny dude. He's cool."

Later in the piece, Kroichick recalls an instance of Harbaugh's quirky behavior endearing himself to Harris. In the midst of a reported visit to Antioch High School (where Harris stars), Harbaugh was seated at the principal's desk and the hilarity ensued with Harris arrived:

When Harris walked into the office, Harbaugh animatedly declared, "You're a beautiful young man!" The room burst into laughter. He subsequently told Harris he should pursue a career in movies.

"It was kind of funny how he said it," Antioch head coach John Lucido says. "It made Najee comfortable and kind of broke the ice with everybody."

It should be noted that Harris is currently committed to play football at Alabama, and that status remains unchanged since April 2015. However, the uber-talented running back hasn't been shy about evaluating his other options, and Michigan is considered to be a front-runner should Harris elect to open his recruitment beyond the walls of Tuscaloosa.
