This four-star target from Big Ten country won't be committing until after the season

A "who's who" of Big Ten programs will be forced to wait on the commitment of this four-star 2017 prospect.

Jaylen Kelly-Powell has been a high-profile target of several prominent schools across the country and particularly within the Big Ten. However, the four-star safety from Cass Tech in Detroit will be postponing his commitment until after the 2016 football season.

Kelly-Powell rates as a top-150 prospect nationally according to 247Sports, and in recent days, the 6-foot, 175-pound safety has been seen as a Michigan lean. With Jim Harbaugh at the helm in Ann Arbor, that is no surprise from a local product, but Michigan State and Ohio State are in hot pursuit, with teams like Notre Dame, Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon and UCLA also presenting Kelly-Powell with offers.

247Sports lists Michigan with a 94% likelihood to land his commitment with their "Crystal Ball", but given that this commitment has been pushed back a few months, anything can happen. Kelly-Powell will reportedly be present at Michigan's top recruiting event, BBQ at the Big House, over the weekend, but with Urban Meyer, Mark Dantonio and Nick Saban (among others) recruiting him hard, Harbaugh and his staff will be tasked with a difficult presentation to keep him engaged.
