Following a 4-8 record in his fourth season with the program, Tommy Tuberville "stepped down" from his position as Cincinnati head coach on Saturday. And it hasn't taken long for Cincy to move on, with an outstanding list of potential options.
FanBuzz's Bo Churney speculated that Fleck and Brohm could draw interest from Cincinnati, and it appears the same is true for former Texas coach Charlie Strong.
The 62-year old Tuberville was 29-22 in his four years with the Bearcats, but the program had clearly declined after his first two seasons of 9-4 play. With that decline and Tuberville's age, Cincinnati was destined to make a change and it looks like Tuberville helped make the decision easier for him.
Tuberville has previously been a head coach at Ole Miss, Texas Tech, and Auburn. His 10-year stint with the Tigers was clearly his most successful, as he attained an 85-40 overall record, including a 13-0 season in 2004. Tuberville resigned from Auburn in 2008 after a disappointing 5-7 year that saw a loss to Vanderbilt and a 38-0 loss to Alabama.
Strong didn't win more than six games during his tenure at Texas, but had two impressive seasons at Louisville before jumping to the Longhorns, with winning seasons of 11 and 12, respectively.
In three years at Western Kentucky, Brohm hasn't won fewer than eight games, with two consecutive bowl wins en tow.
After a one-win season at Western Michigan in Year 1, Fleck rattled off back-to-back eight-win seasons before holding an unblemished 13-0 record this year.
