Three-star wide receiver Jordan Pouncey (6-foot-2, 185 pounds, Winter Park, Fla.) just one 2017 recruiting class much more talented. On Saturday afternoon, Pouncey — cousin of former Florida Gator and current Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey — announced his verbal commitment to Notre Dame. Pouncey picked the Fighting Irish over Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, North Carolina and several other big-time schools that offered him.
"The tradition and the academics," said Pouncey, when he was asked what he likes most about Notre Dame by 247Sports. "That's what matters most."
According to 247Sports, Pouncey is the No. 103 wide receiver nationally and No. 103 prospect in the state of Florida from the class of 2017.
