It appears that Houston head coach Tom Herman is fed up with the media frenzy surrounding his job status.

After reports that Herman was essentially guaranteed to leave Houston for Texas at the end of the year, the coach responded after practice on Tuesday in a very pointed manner.

"I'm done being the media police," Herman said. "I'm done chasing down erroneous reports. I'm done putting out statements to refute bogus information. That's not my job. My job is to concern myself with the players on this team and get them ready for a football game."
It appears that the media speculation is finally becoming too much of a distraction in Herman's eyes, so it looks like he is shutting it down as best he can. Regardless of if he wants to go to Texas or not, Herman is currently at Houston and he wants to focus on that job for now.
Also, you can't exactly say that you are set to leave for another job that is still currently occupied, whether that report is true or not.
Herman is 19-3 in his season-plus tenure at Houston. He has been connected to every major job opening or potential opening in the past month, including Texas, LSU, USC, and even the NFL.
