There's been plenty of speculation about what current Houston head coach Tom Herman's next move could be. That speculation will only get louder after Houston's loss to Navy on Saturday.

According to a current Power Five assistant and a separate former staff member with Herman, there are only two jobs he'd consider, and neither of them are LSU, per 247sports.
"Texas, he will take that all day long ... unless USC comes calling," a current Power Five assistant told 247Sports this week. "Yes, Texas is the better job. But he's from California and so is his wife [Michelle]."
As for the former staff member, his opinion differs:
"Texas is his dream job. He'd crush it there. That'd be the best thing ever for the University, for Austin. He loved his time as a GA there. I'm getting excited for him just thinking about it."
Herman has noted previously that he won't even consider another gig in the middle of the season, and 247sports noted none of the schools interested have reached out to Herman as of now.
Whether that changes over the next few months remains to be seen.
