Johnson, a 6'1, 179 pound prospect from Brenham, Texas, was previously committed to Texas Tech. He decommitted on May 5. He was also being heavily recruited by TCU.
The commitment gives new Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley 13 pledges for the Class of 2018.
ESPN lists Johnson as the No. 78 receiver in his class and the No. 58 player from the state of Texas.
While the commitment is obviously a big deal for the beginning of Riley's tenure in Norman, it's also a big loss for Texas Tech and TCU. Both teams struggled last season, and losing in-state talent to a conference rival is never a good sign.
