Jim Harbaugh is always looking for creative ways to make the Michigan Wolverines better between the white lines. On Thursday afternoon, Harbaugh and his staff pulled off a package deal that will help to bolster the secondary for years to come.
Michigan will add two defensive backs to the fold beginning in 2018, as twin brothers German and Gemon Green made their college choice known.
Both brothers are listed as three-star cornerbacks by the 247Sports composite and both German and Gemon stand at 6'2" and between 160 and 170 pounds as they prepare to enter their final high school season. Wolverine247 caught up with German after the announcement and he indicated why the brothers chose to land in Ann Arbor.
"The reason why we have chosen to commit to Michigan is because when we got down there, it felt like family. The coaches are father-type role models. They each have their own personality.
"They all have the same goals as me and my brother. They want to get us better, succeed in life and win a national championship."
As usual, Harbaugh was a huge part of the process in making this happen. Gemon is the higher-ranked prospect on 247Sports but, if nothing else, this is quality depth for Michigan's 2018 class that now features seven commitments at this early juncture.
