Aaron Sterling isn't the biggest name that will announce his college choice on National Signing Day but he may have had the weirdest morning. The three-star defensive end is reportedly weighing a decision between South Carolina and Tennessee but the Gamecocks pulled the trigger on announcing his commitment... before it actually happened.

In fact, South Carolina even released a video with an assistant coach talking about Sterling's virtues as a player.
In short order, Tennessee also made the mistake of sharing information about Sterling as if he committed, sending the process into further confusion.

This is a bizarre situation to say the least, with Sterling still uncommitted as of Wednesday morning. The 6-foot-2, 260-pound defensive end from Tucker High School (Ga.) was previously committed to Alabama before taking a step back from that pledge in September. Prior to the weirdness of dueling false commitments, that might have been the most interesting part of Sterling's process from a national perspective, but it is (very) hard to believe that two programs made the same misstep on the same morning.
At any rate, Aaron Sterling will make his commitment soon and it seems likely that at least one of the schools in question will actually turn out to be right.
