Three-star JUCO defensive lineman Cassius Peat had been committed to UCLA, but Peat never put pen to paper on a Letter of Intent back on National Signing Day. The reason why is now clear, as 247Sports reports that Peat will instead be enrolling with Michigan State.
Peat later confirmed the news on his Twitter account.
Though he had publicly been committed to UCLA, Peat said that he knew he was heading to Michigan State for months. Peat was originally a Class of 2015 recruit that was enrolled at Michigan State before he transferred to a JUCO for personal reasons after one season. Now it looks like Peat will be heading back to the Spartans, and he will provide some needed depth for Michigan State's defense.
With Peat officially on board, Michigan State now has 24 members in their 2017 recruiting class.
