USC DT: Players didn't take Alabama game seriously

This seems unwise.

Well no wonder USC lost to Alabama 52-6.

According to the Los Angeles Daily News, USC defensive tackle Stevie Tu'ikolovatu made a rather interesting statement about USC's game this week against Stanford.

"The players are taking this game a lot more serious, knowing we are beatable," Tu'ikolovatu said. "It was a big stage (against) Alabama. Maybe some of our guys mindsets weren't there."

They are taking this game against Stanford seriously now? Were they not taking the game against the No. 1 team and defending national champions seriously? That would explain a lot.

USC's blowout loss to Alabama wasn't just about one team being better than the other; it was also about the Crimson Tide just absolutely outworking their opponent in every facet of the game. USC taking Stanford for seriously is a good sign for the Trojans, but still: what were they expecting in Week 1 in Jerry World?
