Video released of Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield being tackled by police

Mayfield was arrested on Feb. 25.

Oklahoma quarterback and Heisman candidate Baker Mayfield was arrested last month on charges of disorderly conduct, public intoxication, resisting arrest, and fleeing. On Friday, dash cam footage of Mayfield being tackled and arrest was released.

The incident, per ESPN, was sparked by Mayfield flagging down an officer after allegedly breaking up a fight. While Mayfield was on scene to give a statement, the quarterback reportedly became belligerent, yelling profanity and eventually attempting to leave the scene, which is shown in the video.

Mayfield has a court appearance on April 7.

Mayfield is one of the top players in college football, throwing for 3,965 yards and 40 touchdowns against just eight interceptions in 2016. Mayfield's efforts led him to finishing 3rd in the Heisman voting behind winner Lamar Jackson and runner up Deshaun Watson. After a Sugar Bowl win over Auburn to cap an 11-2 season, Mayfield announced that he would be returning to Oklahoma for the 2017 season.
