In the wake of Oregon's stunning Rose Bowl collapse, it didn't take long for Washington offensive lineman Geirean Hatchett to add a little salt to the wound. As the Ducks' dreams of a national championship were shredded by Ohio State in a 41-21 beatdown, Hatchett couldn't resist a little social media jab.

"I was going to talk about New Year's resolutions, but I like the way 2025 started knowing Oregon still won't have a natty," the senior lineman quipped, clearly savoring Oregon's painful exit.
Now, it's not exactly shocking that Hatchett would take this opportunity to gloat. After all, the Cascade Clash—one of college football's most heated rivalries—has long been defined by a deep-rooted animosity between the Huskies and the Ducks. Both teams have emerged as juggernauts in the new Big Ten, with Washington making a run to the College Football Playoff title game last year and Oregon surging this season with an undefeated 13-0 record before falling apart in Pasadena.

What makes it even sweeter for Hatchett, though, is that he's one of the few to have experienced the full rollercoaster of both sides. Having played his first two seasons in Seattle before transferring to Oklahoma, Hatchett's return to Washington via the December transfer portal must feel especially sweet with Oregon failing to seal the deal yet again.
As the Huskies bask in their recent successes and Oregon faces yet another championship heartbreak, you can bet Hatchett and the rest of the Washington faithful will continue to relish the Ducks' latest disappointment.
It's been years since Oregon's closest shot at a title, but once again, it's the Huskies who are left to remind them: the elusive national championship is still nowhere in sight.
