West Virginia DB arrested, dismissed after exposing himself to hotel maid

Well, this is a pretty bizarre story.

I don't think I've had enough coffee to write this story. A safety for West Virginia, Daejuan Funderburk, was arrested and charged for an incident in a hotel room involving a hotel maid. Over New Years Weekend, the Mountaineers beat the Arizona State Sun Devils 43-42 in the Cactus Bowl in Phoenix, Ariz. Funderburk, a Mountaineer redshirt freshman safety, allegedly exposed himself to a member of the hotel cleaning staff, and he also is alleged to have touched the woman.

Funderbunk, who has since been dismissed from the team, was sentenced to five days in jail and pleaded guilty to  and indecent exposure and disorderly conduct at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch. The incident is reported to have occurred the day before the Mountaineers' win on Jan. 2.

ABC 15-TV in Phoenix first reported the arrest — an excerpt is below.

"The hotel employee told Scottsdale police she was attempting to clean Funderburk's room when he became aggressive, began touching the employee and pulled down his pants down to expose himself, according to Scottsdale police."

Yikes. It was probably wise of head coach Dana Holgerson to boot Funderbunk off the team, I'd say.
