Western Kentucky ran a fake kneel to absolute perfection

Western Kentucky executes a brilliant sandlot trick play in the Boca Raton Bowl

Western Kentucky ran a play against Memphis in the Boca Raton Bowl Tuesday night that was reminiscent of what we used to draw up in the mud with thumb prints as kids.

And just like one of those sandlot trick plays, it was an awkward mess, but a clever one that worked like a charm.

In the game's second quarter, Hiltoppers quarterback Mike White appeared to be lining up to take a knee on the play, then took off and faked option right while virtually the entire Western Kentucky team went left—-with the ball.

Miraculously, Memphis was able to prevent a touchdown on the play, as it was about eight players on two until the Tigers realized where the ball was.

The Hilltoppers went on to win the game 51-31.
