After last year's oh-so-close runner-up finish in the Women's College World Series, the Seminoles are a scorching 10-0 to start the 2022 season. That includes five-straight wins over ranked opponents, including the latest terrific finish over the UCLA Bruins on Sunday night.
FSU and UCLA were tied in extra innings when sophomore outfielder Kalei Harding stepped to the plate at the ESPN Elite Invitational in Clearwater, Florida.
You know the rest.

Harding lined the first pitch she saw passed the outstretched arm of UCLA's left fielder, bringing home Jahni Kerr from second. Understandably, the entire FSU team went berserk and swarmed her on the base paths.
UCLA, as most fans in Tallahassee may remember, gave Florida State their first loss in last year's WCWS in Oklahoma City. FSU battled back to beat Arizona, Oklahoma State and Alabama to advance to the finals.
Call this one payback. Call it revenge. Or simply just call it 'Noles doing what 'Noles do best.
FSU fans might remember Kalei Harding for her absolute cannon throw during last year's Women's College World Series. She's also made diving catches out in right field, proving she's one of the best defenders in the country.
Clearly, though, she can swing the stick. She's hitting .320 and has already clobbered a couple home runs early in the season.

Florida State head coach Lonni Alameda looks to have another talented team on her hands. Pitching has been the name of the game so far — FSU hasn't surrendered more than three runs in any of its 10 games so far.
If they can keep it rolling into ACC play, there's no reason the Seminoles shouldn't be making another deep postseason run come May.
