College softball's three-time defending champs are strengthening their ranks. On Monday, Sports Illustrated announced that the Oklahoma Sooners signed Allyssa Parker — a two-way high school superstar from Pocola, Oklahoma — to their 2025 recruiting class.
The signing, which Parker confirmed via X, marks yet another massive recruitment for the Sooners' 2025 class. According to Extra Innings Softball, Parker is ranked as the nation's No. 8 overall high school softball player and No. 4 pitcher in the 2025 class.
As a junior in high school last season, Parker went 16-1 with a 0.26 ERA on the mound and hit .577 with 13 home runs and 47 RBIs — although she's likely to become a full-time pitcher upon arriving in Norman. She was also a finalist for Prep Nation TV's State Player of the Year in Oklahoma.
Parker joins an already outstanding 2025 Sooner recruiting class, which added two more of high school softball's best players last week. One of them is Sophia Bordi — a pitcher from New Jersey whom Legacy & Legends Softball ranks as the nation's No. 1 recruit in the 2025 class; won New Jersey's 2023 Gatorade Player of the Year award; has trained with Sooners legend Jocelyn Alo (NCAA's all-time leader in home runs with 122); and committed to Oklahoma last Tuesday.
One day after Bordi came on board, Kendall Wells — a catcher from Georgia whom Extra Innings Softball ranks as the No. 1 high school catcher and No. 4 overall player in the nation — also committed to the Sooners.
Oklahoma having landed the nation's No. 1, No. 4 and No. 8 2025 recruits — all in the span of one week — displays how Sooners coach Patty Gasso is playing chess while the rest of college softball is stuck on checkers. It's one thing for a local star such as Parker to want to play for her hometown team; but the fact that Gasso is reeling in top-tier recruits from all corners of the country is unparalleled. Not only is Oklahoma currently on a 53-game winning streak and has won three straight national championships, but it also is still finding ways to improve its roster every year — whether through exceptional recruiting classes or unfair transfers. It makes one wonder how many consecutive championships the Sooners will win before another team can dethrone them.
What's for sure is that, considering these three 2025 signees, Sooner softball is set on superstars until at least 2028.
