Bryant was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2001 and began training in gymnastics three years later. She and her family moved to North Carolina, where Haleigh started training with Everest Gymnastics. Her competitive career yielded results fairly quickly. In 2017, she placed first in the all-around while also winning the floor exercise and vault competitions. She defended her vault title the following year while finishing second on floor exercise and third in the all-around. In 2020, she signed her national letter of intent to attend Louisiana State University. Her skills continued to develop, particularly in the vault, where she has been utterly dominant. She was named SEC Freshman of the Year in 2021, completing the most decorated freshman season in school history. She finished her sophomore season ranked No. 3 in the nation in the vault while also achieving career highs in the uneven bars and balance beam.
So far this season, the team has an overall record of 8-5, with an SEC mark of 5-3. It is on a roll of late, having won six straight meets. The team has moved to sixth in the rankings after this past weekend's results. Bryant's impressive showing will certainly help keep the momentum flowing as the team heads into the SEC championships this coming weekend in Atlanta.
