It's now been almost two years since Fallout 4 released, and for some of us, the announcement that the game would be rolling out a Game of the Year edition was only surprising in reminding us that there wasn't already one out. Despite critical reception ranging quite across the board in in terms of Fallout 4's actual quality as an RPG, the game still sold over 12 million copies in the first 24 hours alone, surpassing both Skyrim and former Fallout titles in becoming the best-selling Bethesda title in the studio's history. That the developers weren't quicker in cashing in on a re-release is really kind of bewildering.

Either way, Fallout 4: GOTY Edition is set to release on September 26, according to an article on Bethesda's website. The release will couple the original title alongside all six downloadable content packs, including Far Harbor, Nuka-World, Automatron, and the Wasteland, Vault-Tec, and Contraptions Workshops.
There's also the optional, more expensive version. The Fallout 4: GOTY Pip-Boy Collectors Edition is not only a mouthful to say aloud - it's $99.99. This special edition comes with a wearable Pip-Boy complete with a pocket guide, a Vault-Tech Perk Poster, and, of course, a physical copy of the game. The article does warn that there's only a limited supply available, so be sure to order it quick if you're feeling especially enthusiastic about the title.
The Pip-Boy Edition will be exclusive to retailers in North America and will release alongside the basic GOTY version for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
