So you can probably imagine the uproar when CA released an in-engine trailer for the Warhammer 2's Lizardmen faction this past Thursday. Check it out below:
For the most part, the trailer definitely focuses on showcasing the new Lizardmen faction. Riding atop bomb-carrying terradons and leading charges on unstoppable stegadons, the Aztec-themed factions seems to have been brought to life in the best possible way.
Still, they weren't the only stars of the video. The High Elves make a stand against the Lizardmen armies in front of what appears to be the sight of the Vortex, which has previously been announced as the objective to Warhammer 2. From the trailer we can see the High Elves making use of their iconic ranged units as they fire ballista artillery, volleys of arrows, and even send in their own eagle units akin to the Wood Elves from the first game.
Even with their seemingly superior formations however, the High Elves quickly fell under the onslaught of Lizardmen infantry and dinosaurs. The trailer concludes with a scene of a gigantic carnosaur killing the High Elf general - and has left the Total War community in quite the state of excitement.
