While perhaps not on the same scale as, say, Battlefield vs. Call of Duty, the rivalry between RollerCoaster Tycoon and Planet Coaster was no less fierce for fans of the theme park-building genre - if significantly shorter. RollerCoaster Tycoon World was hardly out of the gate before being almost totally denounced by reviewers, who criticized the game for excluding many beloved elements iconic to the series from the newest installment. Planet Coaster, in contrast, received glowing reviews across the board when it released the very next day.
In keeping with this very positive reputation, the developers at Frontier Development recently announced a special Summer-themed free content expansion for Planet Coaster. The update includes fireworks and new customization options for players, as well new rides, coasters, billboards, and more.

According to the video's YouTube description, players will be able to synchronize their firework displays with park events and even custom music - though whether that will hold a spark to the world-renowned Firework Simulator remains to be seen.
Additional content released in Planet Coaster's summer update includes video billboards, display speakers, custom biomes, terrain painting, three new rides, four new coasters, scenery additions, new customization options for guests, three new scenarios, and a variety of quality-of-life improvements in the form of UI tweaks and bug fixes. Planet Coaster is available for Microsoft Windows through the Steam store, where it's currently on sale at 33% off ($30.14) for the Summer Sale.
