The battle between two top-10 middleweights Saturday night was sure to have some fireworks, and this one had plenty early.
Dustin Poirier stood in and traded blows with Michael Johnson after disrespecting the No. 10-ranked contender during weigh-ins.
Johnson took offense and knocked Poirier out before standing over the former No. 7-ranked contender as medical staff tried to help him up.
Poirier's four-fight win streak was snapped, as he dropped to 20-5. Coming off two consecutive losses, Johnson got back on track to move to 17-10.
After the fight, Johnson said he wants a bout at UFC 205 in New York. He has at least one taker.
Johnson apologized for the post-fight antics in an interview after the contest.
