Spoilers: WWE star who missed PPV title match returns from injury

She's back, and ready for the belt.

Ember Moon made her return to the WWE NXT on Thursday night after a short absence from the ring.

Moon returned to the show's set of WWE Network tapings, defeating Peyton Royce on a show that should air on June 14.

How she was injured:

The former NXT Women's Championship title contender has been out for about a month after suffering a brutal shoulder injury.

Moon's exclusion from NXT Takeover: Chicago turned the title match into a triple-threat match, where Asuka defeated Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross to retain her belt.

History made:

Asuka recently eclipsed Goldberg's legendary unbeaten streak, going 173-0 since her debut.

Goldberg's original streak was one of the hottest parts of wrestling in the late-1990s, as Goldberg was undefeated in his ascent to the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. The streak officially ended at "173-0" when Goldberg lost to Kevin Nash at Starrcade in 1998 after enormous amounts of interference.

While the actual number on Goldberg's streak is up in the air, Asuka as indeed gone over 173 matches in WWE without being pinned or submitted. Asuka has been the WWE NXT Women's Champion for 422 days as of press time.

Champ in the making?

The writing appears to be on the wall that Moon will eventually take down Asuka. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.
