Former WWE champ announces he's no longer with the company

That was quick.

After being on the shelf for months with a knee injury, WWE veteran Tajiri announced via Twitter Sunday that his latest run in the WWE is over and that the 46-year-old will be returning to Japan.

Tajiri hadn't been seen on WWE television since January, and although it appears as though that Tajiri was open to working more with WWE going forward, WWE officials didn't want to put him back in the ring because of the risk factor according to the series of tweets sent out by Tajiri.

Interestingly enough, Tajiri does note that while he was sidelined he did some training with NXT talent in Orlando, so it is somewhat of a bummer that Tajiri won't be sticking around to work with WWE in that capacity.

Tajiri was a three-time Cruiserweight champion with the WWE.
